Appearing as a child actor in a super hit film "Yaadon Ki Baaraat" in 1973 . He 'quit' movies after this film and went on to become the state tennis champion for Maharashtra. Aamir Khan also fell in love with the girl how was in next door to him in the meantime. He proposed to her the day he turned 21 years old, and she accepted his approval. But apparently, there was opposition since she was from a Hindu family and he, from Islamic family. So, they both ran from home, got married and returned to their homes. Aamir Khan was born in Mumbai in a Muslim family,His family background is connected to the city of Herat in Afghanistan due to him being a descendant of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.His family was actively involved in Indian film-industry and produced many great persons for Indian cinema. His father Tahir Hussain was a producer; his uncle Nasir Hussain was a director. He has acted in a few films directed by his cousin Mansoor Khan. His brother Faisal Khan is also an actor, and they have co-starred in the 2000 film Mela,which was a great film. His cousin Tariq was an actor in the 1970s who notably appeared in Yaadon Ki Baraat and Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahin.
